About East Cork Online

Launched on Monday April 9th EastCorkOnline.com aims to put itself at the forefront of promoting the East Cork region and all it has to offer.

The site places emphasis on our regional environment and litter problems among other issues of interest. Some of the site features include a Discussion Forum with many boards including one called 'Councillors Corner'. The objective of 'Councillors Corner' is to give the general public the opportunity to voice their concers/opinions on all things locally. Ministers and Councillors have been contacted and informed about this section and we hope to have some of them onboard to answer whatever question may be put to them.

Also on the site is a section dedicated to 'Community News & Information' with several
subsections like 'Sports', 'People Views', 'Business Spotlight', and 'Community Alert' information.

A Photo gallery is also in place and we hope to have this populated with images of anything East Cork by East Cork photographers.

Also on site is what we call a 'Rate Your Photo' gallery whereby the public can register for
free, upload their photos and have other users and visitors rate them. With this particular
section we hope to run monthly competitions for best photos in different categories in conjunction with local businesses.

The site was started with the intention of bringing a complete online community to the East Cork region. It’s non-profit, run and financed by its founder. It has the potential to be a big success but that depends mainly on the people of East Cork utilising the many resources it offers.

We invite and encourage the East Cork people to send us information about anything of
interest. We'll guarantee online publication of all articles of a decent nature. Information about events of all types is very welcome. Personal Experiences/Articles/Stories etc will
also be greatly accepted.

The site also has a Classified Ad section which we hope will be populated by East Cork’s public. Registration is for free, however, any single advert will cost 1.25 pw. Revenue earned from this source will go back into site development.

To conclude, EastCorkOnline.com is there for the people of East Cork. We have a gem of a
region and we need an online community presence like this. The site resources are too many to go into and the best way to learn about EastCorkOnline.com is to visit
www.eastcorkonline.com
